With the stunning Sony HDR-XR520VE Digital Camcorder you can experience fantastic low-light sensitivity with much improved picture clarity and drastically reduced grain thanks to the newly developed, back-illuminated "Exmor R" sensor. This having been designed for compact cameras and camcorders it relocates the image diodes above the support circuitry, maximizing the light-gathering area per pixel letting you shoot with greater results in lower lighting. The Sony HDR-XR520VE delivers bright, spectacularly detailed video footage with 6 megapixel video resolution. The image sensor of the XR-520 actually takes video footage four times the density of high definition resolution resulting in a sharper and more detailed 1920 x 1080 HD picture. Also the "Exmor R" technology captures pictures with high resolution and high sensitivity with the advanced Sony® BIONZ™ image processor improving camera response time and screening out noise helping to ensure that the signal from each pixel is as pure as you can get.

The Sony HDR-XR520VE High Dynamic Range digital camcorder comes with a built in GPS receiver making it an ideal choice for people who like to travel. The HDR-XR520VE GPS receiver gives you the ability to view your current location on the LCD map display as well as automatically adjusting your camcorder's clock to the proper time zone and "tagging" your shooting locations. Tagged videos and still images can be reviewed and played back using the HDR-XR520V Map Index function on the camcorder or when downloaded to your computer using the supplied software.
